Lead Lifeguard – Seasonal Position Cannon Beach Fire District – Ocean Safety Division The Cannon Beach Fire District Ocean Safety Division is currently accepting applications for the position of Lead Lifeguard. This is a temporary seasonal position running mid-March through October 2026. This leadership role is responsible for supporting daily beach operations, ensuring public safety, mentoring seasonal lifeguards, and maintaining professional ocean rescue standards along the Cannon Beach coastline. Application Timeline • Application Period: February 13, 2026 – March 4, 2026 • Swim Test & Assessment Center: March 7, 2026 Position Requirements Applicants must: • Be 18 years of age or older • Successfully pass a pool and ocean swim assessment • Have a minimum of one year lifeguarding experience (open water experience preferred) • Hold Advanced First Aid and CPR certification (or higher) • Demonstrate a working knowledge of United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) lifeguarding techniques and guidelines • Possess strong communication and leadership skills • Supervisory experience is preferred How to Apply Application materials may be submitted: 📧 Email: klyu@cbfire.com 📍 In Person: Cannon Beach Fire Station 188 Sunset Blvd. Cannon Beach, OR 97110 Questions? Community CPR Class

Date: February 7th, 2026 Address: Arch Cape Fire station, 79729 N Hwy 101, Arch Cape, OR 97102 Time: 8 am to 12 pm Contact us at: (503) 436-2949 or landerson@cbfire.com Class Cost: Donation based, certification fee covered by the Association **Preference will be given to District residents (Cannon Beach to Falcon Cove). Class size is limited, check your email for class confirmation. Waitlist will be created for students who exceeded class limit.** Limit of 12 Seats. If more seats become available those on the waitlist will be notified. Please check your email to confirm your registration. This class is intended for students who have never taken a CPR/AED class or for those who are needing to get in-depth training. This class will help you prepare to render CPR for infants, children, and adults. This class is an estimated 4 hour course, including breaks. No prior knowledge or experience is needed. No materials are required but a notebook is highly encouraged for note taking. After successful completion of this course and a brief survey, an electronic CPR card will be emailed to you. Students will also be given a complementary CPR mask to use during an emergency. **Please note, you will not be receiving a certification from American Heart Association (AHA). This class does teach protocols and guidelines that align with AHA standards and is the same class your paid and volunteer firefighters use for their state mandated recertification.**
