Johnson is the owner of his own landscape and maintenance company. His landscaping work can often be found on Facebook and Instagram, as he enjoys photography and social media.
He went to Portland Community College and completed the two-year technical program for Building Construction. With his business and degree, Johnson is the best lieutenant to be in charge of tools and equipment.
Johnson doesn't quite remember if he joined the department 27 or 28 years go. Like many people, he grew up wanting to be just like his dad, who happened to be a firefighter. When Johnson was older he was involved in a serious car accident, his dad was one of the first responders on scene, after his accident he knew he wanted to be there for others as well.
Johnson doesn't read books on his free time but he does enjoy the movie Airplane! from 1980.
