Division Chief is a part time employee for Cannon Beach Fire, the majority of the time you'll find him hard at work, at another fire house.

He first joined the Cornelius Fire Department in 2001, six years after he was promoted to lieutenant, and in 2010 he became the Shift Captain.

Reckmann attended Portland Community College for an associate in Fire Technology and then attended Eastern Oregon University for a bachelor in Fire Administration. Reckmann answered the first responder call in 1994 when there was a dire need for volunteers to combat wildland fires. At the time he was only a teenager with little experience because of this, there wasn't a lot he was allowed to do. Division Chief took it upon himself to learn more, now he hopes to help our firefighters accomplish that same goal.

Reckmann is working on a long term apparatus replacement schedule, training interested volunteers in fire and EMS certifications, organizational leadership skills, and the recruitment and retention of volunteers.

Division Chief does not watch movies too often as he prefers camping and spending time with his family but he enjoyed the book Fire on the Mountain: The True Story of the South Canyon Fire by John Maclean.
