Joe Bowman

Bowman has certainly had an adrenaline filled life with service running through his veins. He is currently the Corporal and K9 Handler for the Cannon Beach Police Department and also works on his Landscape & Commercial Photography Business from home in Warrenton.

He used to call Seaside and Gearhart home during his childhood, he attended high school there and first started volunteering at the Gearhart Fire Department when he was only seventeen. He then joined the United States Navy and became a Damage Controlman, his job included firefighting and chemical, biological, and radiological warfare defense. During his return, he took up firefighting again, this time with the Seaside Fire Department. Bowman also took some general college. When he started working at the Cannon Beach Police Department he couldn't forget about his love for fire fighting and transferred over to CBRFPD. In addition to being a member of the CBRFPD, Bowman is also a member of the Clatsop County Fire Investigation Team. Bowman joined our department in 2002 but has been in the fire service for 23 years.

He might appear intimidating when he pulls someone over or when people see him with Gunner, the CBPD K9, but Bowman is all heart and enjoys life. On his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, hiking, or photography. But nothing beats his biggest off-time hobby, spending time with his boys.
