Bowman is currently a Corporal and K9 Handler for the Cannon Beach Police Department while also working on his Landscape & Commercial Photography Business from home.

Joe started volunteering at Gearhart Fire Department when he was only seventeen. He then joined the United States Navy and became a Damage Controlman. His job included firefighting and chemical, biological, and radiological warfare defense. After his enlistment, he took up firefighting again, this time with the Seaside Fire Department. Bowman also took some general college class. When he started working at the Cannon Beach Police Department he couldn't forget about his love for fire fighting and transferred over to Cannon Beach Fire. In addition to being a member of the CBRFPD, Bowman is also a member of the Clatsop County Fire Investigation Team. Bowman joined our department in 2002 but has been in the fire service for over 20 years.

On his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, hiking, or photography. But nothing beats his biggest off-time hobby, spending time with his boys.
